It seems that there is a difference between a printed scorecard from a course page and the net score calculation when you actually enter a score. For some reason, the printed scorecard listed my OUT handicap as -14, but when I entered the score it only took off 13. It seems that this might be linked to hole #6. The scorecard says -2 but the entered score only took 1 off.

This probably has something to do with only playing 9 holes. Handicaps are usually calculated based on 18-hole rounds, but here (and many other places) combine two 9-hole rounds to add to the handicap scores.

If you click on the "handicap" link (green text right after your handicap ), you will see this:

and it shows your recent score was combined with another 9-hole round. I'm guessing that the other 9-hole round combined with this latest one will result in what you would expect.

I understand how the two scores are combined for calculating the handicap... It's a good formula and accurate from what I've been able to tell. But I don't think that affects the calculations for Net Score when you enter a score.

The problem lies in this: I'm playing match-play against someone and use the course scorecard to print out the strokes to give/take. After I actually enter my score into "my scores" I find out that the strokes to give/take are different... that to me is a bug as it affects the game just played. It also affects the total net score because you might also be playing to that number throughout the round only to find once you enter the score when you get home that the net score is different (could be the difference between a win or tie). I can only think that there must be a rounding difference between the printed version of the scorecard and the "my score" entered version when dealing with 9 holes. I don't have the code though, so it's hard to armchair debug.

When I look between your entered score, and the scorecard screenshot, the only handicap number that matches up is for hole 5. All of the others are different. I think this may be where the difference lies.

I'm not sure this is correct, but since you can only print an 18-hole scorecard, this might be the issue.

You are probably bang on, however you can print a 9-hole scorecard(new)... so I would expect the problem to lie in either the scorecard printing or the "my score" code.

This appears to be a bug in the scorecard printing. Even when you select 9 holes its still using the 18 hole course handicap and not readjusting the stroke indexes for 9 hole play. Looking into a fix...
