So, i've been grinding away on things. I decided to look at the practice footage in great scrutiny and see what's been going on and see what has been going on. I've been really really close a lot of times to breaking par, only to have the swing fall apart at the most inopportune times so i thought: there's got to be one small thing that i'm missing. I may have found it, thanks to my wife/caddy Marie (foodisabirdie). Especially with my driver, but pretty much with every club. I spent the major time to fix the big stick because lately that is what is getting me into trouble.
Notice left to right - 2 years ago, end of last week, a year ago then Just yesterday (i got them out of order when i stacked it and i'm too lazy to fix it at this point). Even last week's is at the wrong perspective and should look better - which tells you how bad it's gotten in the drift. The position of my head and hands is completely different in yesterday's image. Slightly more back towards middle, and my hands are pressed more forward and away from the center of my stance. I'm so much more square now. Because of this, I've completely overhauled my preshot routine and setup/alignment to make it much easier to get into the proper position. The way i was doing it before put my left wrist in a very concave position, and left my shoulders pointing left - which lead to the pulls that i've been struggling with for a while now.
Score one for grinding. Now all i gotta do is keep my feet on the ground and my head down. So far so good.
