She might take that the wrong way. LOL. I should think of a good nickname though. She's gonna be on the bag for the LANCO events this year.

Shot a 98.
Three stroke and distance penalties.
Six three-putts.
Three chunk shots with my irons.
That's 15 strokes I want back.

Chilly day, I went out and scored an 81. Not great but it beats my average at least. I started out by making two double bogeys and had to grind just to hang in there. I had no swing for most of the round. Even the putter was breaking down thru impact and weak and lacking conviction. Kind of enjoyed the struggle though. The conditions of your body are sort of like conditions of the golf course, always in flux, never quite the same from day to day, and you just have to take it on as another obstacle within the game.

105 and I was surprised to find it was that many.
The new club (TaylorMade Burner Superfast) was nice, generally tolerant of poor contact and more distance with the good. Putting was usually good but my short game has gone to pot: No faith in anything that needs to be lofted with the PW, SW so ended up with playing long chip-and-run shots.
A 10 and an 8 won't have helped but I had a par and five bogeys so to find I'd totalled 105 on a par 68 course was puzzling.
Still, the weather was beautiful, we enjoyed ourselves and I didn't even get grumpy this time.

Shot a 107 today, which normally doesn't upset me. What did upset me this time was that my putting has gone to hell in a hand basket. I normally putt pretty well. The times I've kept track on the course, I've generally averaged a two-putt or less. Today I must have three-putted at LEAST five or six times. My tee shots were good, my fairway shots were better than they have been, and my chipping was really good, but the putting kept me from scoring better.
Dammit, if it's not one thing it's another.
ETA: I remembered last night the probable reason why I didn't putt well yesterday. I'd tried so hard to put it out of my mind that I forgot about it. The greens on the course were aerated, and while they did a pretty good job smoothing them out with sand, those little holes always screw with my mind. Hopefully that was the only reason.

Shot an atrocious 83 today. Nothing was working at all until the tee shot on the back 9 but even then still couldnt get the short game In order. Could've been a lot worse I suppose. Barely had any clear shots on the front and pulled off some pretty spectacular wizardry from under trees and the like. Although, It would have been nice if i didn't have to do that. hahaha. Almost half my score was putts. Ive got to find the bandaid for my putting when it doesn't show up. I have one for the tee ball and the approaches but I have nothing to stop the shortcake from bleeding. [/img]

Five-putting. Have you ever done it? I would've answered No. Until today. It happened on the first hole. Head still hurts. I smash a drive down the fairway, nice. Thin an 8i to the way wrong part of the green, 3 putt city. But OK--a GIR to start the round is not bad. Now its like 50' downhill downwind on a fast green, whack it off the green, then crush it back uphill 8' past. OK. Barely touch 3rd putt, watch it miss and roll downhill 7' past the hole. The fourth and fifth putts I don't actually recall but am sure that they did occur. The other guy in my group four-putted to add on to the waking nightmare. It felt impossible to get the ball in the hole. Part of me wanted to lose it, you know like snap mentally and start slapping the ball all around the green, adding a hundred more strokes to my score, scream at the heavens IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT?? before collapsing in a heap of tears.
This set the tone for another gut wrenching putting horror-show. Second straight round, 38 putts. The greens at my local are in a disturbing state. Fast and bumpy together, its lethal. The cups sit on raised surfaces, repelling anything but a dead center putt. They ought to put a sign in the pro shop: PUTT AT YOUR OWN RISK. I'm irritated by what went down but ultimately-- F-it, it's not going to bring me down.

99 today. My ESC brought it down to a 97.
Five penalties, including three for stroke and distance.
Five wasted chips (meaning I had to chip again).
Four three-putts.
17 wasted strokes that I want back. And let's not forget the par 4 that I overdrove that I ended up bogeying. How does that work? You turn a par four into a 20 yard par three, and you still can't par the dang thing?
I had a pretty good front nine, though.
