Just curious what everyone uses... Blade or mallet?

I use a blade putter that came with my set. I tried a cheap 3ball mallet, but didn't like it.

For the last 10 years or so I have used primarily center shafted mallet putters. I simply prefer the alignment assistance with my 2-ball over a blade. I have always had trouble with alignment with a blade, although at times I wish I could putt with a blade. Over that 10 year period, in order, I have used the following: Odyssey Mallet, 2-ball, 3-ball SRT, Scotty Cameron Futura Phantom and 2-ball (current). I have also briefly used a couple blades in between some of these but always end up back with a mallet.

I've always used a blade...and I don't feel like I can switch now.

My first putter was a piece of junk...can't even remember what it was. I saved up for a year as a teenager to buy a Rawlings blade putter, and that served me well for a long time. Just upgraded to the Odyssey White Steel 2-ball blade putter, and I love it.

I do think that it takes some extra time alligning putts with the blade putter, but I've spent some time learning to do it. When I first got the Odyssey 2-ball, everything was a couple of inches to the right. I've since learned to stand behind the putter to allign it when I first address the ball, and the difference has been phenomenal.

I just switched from an Oddysey Tri-Ball SRT Mallet to a Heavy Putter C2-DF Blade. I was happy enough with my mallet but I found a GREAT deal on the blade and figured Id give it a try. The Heavy Putter is actually heavier than my mallet was and just as easy to hit straight. I think one can be happy with either as long as they find one that suits their needs.

I just switched from an Odyssey Rossi II mallet to a Cameron Squareback with a Winn grip. I am putting pretty well with it but not noticably better than with the Rossi. I will probably stick with it a while longer just to see if it doesn't take some getting used to the new view!

I spent $10 on a Texan Classic mallet. I took 4" off the shaft so I could stand over the ball comfortably. I'm averaging less than 2 PPH and only improving.

I just bought a Nike OZ#1 blade putter to replace my Cougar X-Cat Tour blade putter which came in a beginner's set from a bigbox superstore.
I spent 3 weeks looking at reviews and swinging various makes and models, both mallet and blade.
I have never really liked the look or the feel of mallet putters. Generally too light for me and I don't get a good feel for putt length. I am sure if I spent more time using a center mounted shaft I could get used to it.
One brand I just could not get a good feel for was Odyssey (blades and mallets). Maybe I am so used to crappy putters that I can't tell quality when I use it.
Anyway, first true test comes on Thursday, wish I could get out before then, but work and family needs me more than the golf course

I found the Taylormade Rossa Monza Spider Balero AGSIs Putter on http://www.clubgolfsale.com looks fairly good, and the price is very attractive. I am considering to buy it.

You need to know your putting style before buying a new putter. Most mallets are face balanced and tend to be made for putters that use the straight back - straight through style. Most blades have some type of heel/toe weighting that helps them open on the backstroke and close on the throughstroke which tends to be better for that type of putters.

ive had my new Odyssey 2-Ball SRT for 3 rounds now and couldnt be happier.

Just bought an Odyssey White Hot XG #1 blade putter to replace my el-cheapo Adams Tight Lies mallet putter.

God I hope I can stop with the 3- and 4-putts...

I have an STX 9750. It is a blade and I really like the feel of it.

Using the putter that came with the Tour Logic set my wife got me. It's a mallet, but I think I'll be getting an Odyssey #9 at some point because I like the feel. Is the #9 considered a blade?
