|
|
I'm sure I am among a large number of people that wear a golf glove. lately i have taken a harder look at when i remove the glove and for what shots and i'm astonished at what has happened to my game. Previously, i have only removed the glove for putting. Basically playing everything else with the glove on. More recently i have started removing the glove for shots from 50 yards in. That's about as far as i want to go because the swing in that yardage is very compact and it needs the most feel for spin and runout. I've been getting shots right where i want them now and it's amazing.
Just curious when everyone takes their glove off, if at all (you glove putters out there) and what it does for your feel. have you ever experimented with this? If you don't wear a glove ever, why not?

I wear a glove as well but remove it for all short game shots. Putting, chipping, and bunker play.

I don't wear a golve anymore unless the humidity is so high, the club will slip out of my hand if I don't. The reason why is because I'm allergic to grass. I get about three rounds out of a leather glove before it gets enough grass particles in it to make my hand start breaking out in a horrible rash.
When I do wear a glove, I remove it for all of my putts as well as any shot that does not require a full swing.

I usually don't take the glove off until I'm on the green. If it's hot/humid, I'll occasionally take it off between shots.
A couple times, I've actually switched to another glove during the round, if it got wet. I bought a bunch of the same Nike glove when it went on clearance, and I've got 5 or 6 in my bag- unused.

I wear a glove for all shots except putting. I remove the glove in between shots to keep it from getting damp from perspiration.

I usually only take it off to use the bathroom
I sweat like a pig, so, I need it, last thing I need is to throw the putter

This season, I have only been wearing a glove if I have dry, cracked skin on my hands or open cuts from work (I work with my hands, on boats.) I think I have better feel without a glove. However, I will wear a glove on both hands if both are sliced , split or cut up and painful enough that they affect my swing. I try to remember to take it/them off when I putt, but I don't always do so. I switched to Golf Pride New Decade midsize grips and they feel awesome in my bare hands, so for now anyway, I'd rather not wear a glove at all when my hands are in good shape. I feel more connected to the club that way.

I don't wear a glove anymore. I stopped a couple of years ago because I sweat like a pig and the glove gets all nasty. Now I just have a towel that I wipe my hands dry with and my grips are pretty good in wet conditions, so I have no fear of it flying out of my hands.

Twenty years ago. Watched Fred Couples and figured if it was good enough for him why not.

I take my glove off between shots when its so hot and i am just soaking tyhe glove with sweat. I try and remember to take off when putting but don't always. I did notice the last couple times i would have left my glove in the cart and just hit with out it and feel like i have more control with my hands so i might try it out on all the touch shots with in 60 yards.

I take my glove off for all shots with my wedges that are not full swing. I like the feel of not having a glove on for shots that need a little more feel to them. I have been considering not wearing a glove at all for all shots, however in texas its so hot and humid a glove is usually a must.
