how has your hdcp changed this year...???
mine 11.6 to a 9.4 (currently).
2nd question, how many more months of golf do you have left where you live....here in South Louisiana we can basically play year round.....

I've gone down to 15 and then back up to 19. Was even over 20 for a while. But things are going well now that I found a serious swing flaw.
Moving to Phoenix next week, so I can play all winter.

Our year officially starts 4/1. My Oob handicap was 6.8 on 4/1/2012 and it stands at 6.3 right now. I am playing about as well as I ever have.
Typically our season runs to Thanksgiving. Last year it ran to the end of the year and on into January, February and March. If I can play on Thanksgiving weekend without frozen greens or snow, I will be happy. Anything after Thanksgiving is a gift.

Our official handicap season here in Mass. started on 4/1, as of that date I was a 13.9. As of the 9/15 revision I now stand at a 9.7. Official season runs till first week or so of November. This last year we had a pretty mild winter and we have played all but 3 weeks of 2012. So as long as you don't mind the cold (within reason) the courses on Cape Cod will stay open unless there is snow on the ground.

Started close to a 24, went down to a 22.9 and am currently a 23.3 due to zero practice and only play irregularly at best. I plan on changing the practice over winter by setting up something in my garage and will be back next year aiming to get my handicap down to at least 18 or lower.

With only 1 round played this year, I'm up to a 22.9
I've got one more round, and I don't think it's gonna be pretty. Playing Red Tail in Devens, MA. Easily the hardest course (rating/slope) I've ever played, and probably will ever play. If I wasn't playing for free (sales guy is taking us), I wouldn't be playing again this year.

I started with 21.6, now 19.0, more or less expecting to dip under 18 before end of the year (depending on the weather). Had a lot of trouble with the bad state of the greens on my homecourse; lots of rounds with 38 or more (!) putts. Finally found a cure in crosshanded putting...

Hey, MJaber, I've read alot of good things about Red Tail, but would love to hear an everymans point of view, how about a review of the course after you play?

1/2/2012 -> 19.2 hcpi
9/16/2012 -> 10.9 hcpi
Back in Jan my game was going badly, in a funk. I whipped it into better shape though, and still working on it. Right now playing well for me, index lowest point. I set a goal at the beginning of the year to try and achieve an index of 10.0 or better by Dec 31st. I may be on track, gotta keep up the better play.
Year round play here, no hcp off-season. I have some golf friends who stop but I'm ok with going through our winters.

I agree! For a non-junior golfer to knock 9 strokes of the handicap in less than a year is really something. Well done.

Will do. A couple guys I work with have played it before, and they say it's awesome. We'll have to see how a hacker (me) fares.

I was a 1 in Janurary, now I am a 2. Thanks for bringing this to my attention that I AM GOING THE WRONG WAY. WTH I can't complain, I played alot of nice courses this summer and befor it was more of a vanity cap from playing the same course all the time.

Seems like a semi-shameless humblebrag. "Ooohhh, I lost a stroke on my handicap, I was a decent "1", but now I am a lowly "2". I should be stoned"
