Equipment it's a local 1/2 off page for golf courses. Morgan hill, bethlehem, sheperds hill, etc. Lots of eastern PA but i think you're close enough for it to be worth it. :) 4/13/11
Matt- If you find yourself passing through Edinburgh, Indiana, Timbergate GC is a must play. This course was designed by Fuzzy Zoeller. Awesome! 11/15/10
Thanks for the note. I'm assuming you're back to school now - the round/week number has dropped dramatically! 9/24/10
Matt - I'm back with another Crystal Springs question - any local knowledge you'd like to drop on me for Wild Turkey? Playing it this Saturday afternoon... 9/22/10
Matt, what did you think about the Great Gorge course? On par with the other crystal springs courses? I've got a time for Quarry/Rail on Saturday morning and am hoping it's in good shape. 8/10/10
Matt, It's a really nice course. The views are spectacular and for the most part everything is in very good condiiton. You'll find some greens are in better shape than others but that's mostly due to most players apparent inability to fix a ball mark. Definitely a good test of every part of your game. Two things -- if you're looking for a challenge definitely don't play anything short of the greens, but i recommend the tips. Also, be very careful on windy days. If it's breezy where you are, it'll probably be a hurricane up there. There's very little cover on the tee boxes and as you go up the mountain it gets pretty raw. I played saturday -- score says it all. i was hitting 2 clubs up and still falling well short into the wind. Let me know when you're going if you want some company. I love playing that course. 4/20/10
Matt, Heron Glen is a great track. It's almost like a flat version of Berkshire Valley with an abundance of fescue. It's fun in the early season when the thick stuff hasn't grown up yet, but plays very difficult in the summer because of the tight fairways and nasty fescue. Definitely a course I would recommend if you haven't played there before. Think Ballyowen with no kilts, less BS, and about half the price. 9/23/09
