TR, I've been busy with hunting turkeys this spring. Going on a vacation first week of June and likely will get 6 rounds in if the weather cooperates. Just don't have the passion for the game I once had.

Got a call from Glenn this week, played with Eric and Glenn today. Was told you guys broke up, but no story. What happened?

 

Played with Dad in Myrtle Beach Wednesday. Shot 82 on a wet course. Hit 11 of 14 fairways and 10 greens. It was good to get out there. Wrist is still not perfect.

 

Not a Sergio lover, but have a feeling about him this week. If he putts half decent, he wins. Woods will not contend again. Go Phil!

 

See you guys talk a lot about the Morris, Essex and Union county courses - we should try to get out at some point. Guy I play with won the A flight in the Morris CC this year. I'm much less accomplished but can still get it from point A to point B. Typically not in a straight line, but I digress...

 

I am still on the shelf. Tried to pick up a club last week and it was still a little painful to grip club and swing. Not sure it will go away this summer. I am going to try to play next week at FV in CC qualifier. I may have to shut down for year at some point. It sucks to essentially lose a whole summer.

 

Actually I raised FB back to 4 stars. The course is in great shape, and now that it's stopped raining everyday, the greens are fast and true. I've decided it's a 4 star course, and if you knew any better you would agree with me. ;)

 

I will try to get a time at Flanders next week. Nice to see you dropped FB to 3 stars. And, there is no such thing as legit 3 putt on your home course, specially if you claim to be a good putter ;-)

 

Also, my 3 putting is a good indication that when I do get a GIR it is not close to the hole.

 

Not sure why the wrist is sore, but it is my left and I've been told that plagues RH golfers. Poor technique? Yeah, I agree my putting isn't anything to brag about. I've really been struggling, so the 85 is a nice change. The 4 putt was on a severely undulating green. The hole was right at the top of it and my first putt didn't make it up the incline.

 

LOL,,It's 10 minutes from my house. I'll be hitting the road more often in the middle of the summer.

 

Man do you like Francis Byrne haha jk.....Looks like you would know more about that course than anyone.

 

TR, I went into "My Settings" and then "Email". I had to put a checkbox in front of one or two boxes, but I don't know which ones. I think one was to get notified when someone posts a comment to my Game page. Check out those settings. If it still don't work then check the spam filter like Kickntrue said. I'm getting email notifications when you post to my page. Good luck.

Do you get any emails from oobgolf? For instance, this comment should now generate an email. Sometimes our emails get sent to SPAM. I'll try to look into it- but my best guess is that is happening and you need to add oobgolf as a good email domain.

It would also be nice to have the ability to track a stat in more than 1 category on your "My Game" page. For instance, # of pars overall and # of pars for last 20 scores. Requested it, but might need some more people pushing for it.

 

Andrew, that's an eagle for you guys for listening and implementing the upgrades so fast. Keep up the great work.

 

Way to go TR on getting some new email notification features implemented. They are nice and something I hadn't thought about before.

Wanted to let you know we do listen! We've added email alerts throughout oobgolf. The one we are still working on is getting emails after comments on blog/story posts. That's one is a little trickier and will take more time.

Sam, My home course Francis Byrne is the best of the three, there is a phone tee time system. If you show up any time after 9:00am, sign the walk on list and you should be out within an hour.

 

TR, whats up! How are those Essex county courses? Any you would recommend? How do you get a tee time if you're out of county?

 

That sounds about right!! That does sound like fun. I've been playing for 20 years and that's the first I've heard of it.

 

1 man scramble. You get two balls for every shot and play the better one. It's like a Mulligan on every shot. First time I played one. Lotta fun.

 

Great session at the driving range today. I worked on holding the pose at the end of the swing. My irons felt the best they have in a while. I just hope I can bring it to the course.

 

I played like shit today. It's been a while since I played that bad. The funny thing is, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK OUT THERE!!!

Thanks for inviting to your friends list and the Addicts Club. I am located in South Central North Carolina (about 40 Minutes from Pinehurst, NC). Most of the courses I have played the summer are in the surrounding Pinehurst Area, we play off of a residents capital card and it knocks of about 20 to 30 dollars per round, which makes the greens fee affordable when you are not on a package. Let me know if you ever come this way and we'll play some of the great Donald Ross golf courses in the Sandhills of NC. Seems like your addicted, as am I, to this great game. We are playing the Palmer Course at Woodlake CC tomorrow. Normally we would not play these courses but this summer with the capital card it has been too good to pass up. Stay in touch.
