If he's going to re-shaft buy the cheapest one in his loft because the original shaft will be pulled anyways. Wouldn't pay more than $70 for a head. The new J38 line is coming out next year. Tuesday
Shankopotimus says:That Rombax is a super stout shaft. Just remember if he moves it to a J33R the BBGM (bottom bore to ground measurement) is a 1/2" longer and will need to tip trim accordingly to play true to flex. It will probably play a littler softer even because his 905T is a bore through, so make sure he gets a good club builder to trim it correctly. Tuesday
Shankopotimus says:A close match to the 905T is the 905R. I have a tour head w/ no serials if he is interested. it has a Harmon Tour Design shaft which AK switched back to from his Matrix shaft. It's super short playing around 44" but can always be re-shafted. The 905R is another legendary club. Low spin, hot face, w/ a bigger sweet spot than the 905T. Tuesday
Shankopotimus says:J33R is a classic club. It was the first of the low spin models to come out in '96. Sets up square to maybe 1º open. Not the most forgiving driver. Definitely a players club. Has a nice/unique muted sound to it. It needs to have the right shaft to perform. I haven't found anything better yet. Traditional shape and look. Tuesday

PlusWon says:Yeah man, took the day off to play Gold Mountain. Helluva deal though. Top rated course in the NW and they have 2 courses at the facility. SO nice. Both courses, cart, full lunch, and bucket of balls for $85! (Mon & Tue only though). 5/20/09
