It is calculated as follows: ((Score - Rating) X 113) / Slope How are 9-hole scores handled? 9-hole scores must be paired together before they are calculated into handicap. The scores are paired chronologically. This means that you will only see your handicap adjusted every other 9-hole score entered. What is ESC Score? ESC stands for Equitable Stroke Control. It basically is a max score based on your handicap and keeps that hole-gone-bad from ruining a round. Note that oobgolf automatically calculates ESC if you are scoring hole-by-hole and therefore you should still record your actual score.
