I think classic skins is good for 3 people.. There are a few others that I don't quite remember.

I think we'll be playing 1 a day.. one in the afternoon on Fri and one morning saturday.

 

Thanks jimmaayyyy! haha.. still learning a little about my swing and where to focus my efforts. Swing is still over the top and still too long, but eh, I'll have ot make due. Also making putts when it's your chance to tie in a game of wolf has been pretty fun.

 

Haha.. I've was wearing one called the band-it just for daily activities when I was out and when I first started hitting again, but fortunately have been able to swing without it now.

One thing that really seemed to help is this topical cream called Penetrex you can find on amazon... could be combination of rest and placebo but I thought it was worth the try haha...get better man.

 

Jimmmaaayyy- I think sand game is all about setup. yes, you do hit behind the ball, but open your legs left..and open the clubface to the right and it's even better.

 

For some reason, I never seem to find many free balls at Braeburn. The course is so small, they're either OB or in play...and of course, the driving range. haha...

At Barton Creek however, you will literally find 15 balls each hole if you just venture off the fairway. I did that since it was rainy and nobody else on the courses.

 

haha.. I don't think that driver is going to help me any. I'm a firm believer it's the indian not the arrow. I lost a little confidence in my sandgame lately, until I hit one a good 36 yds to a foot on Sunday.

 

No daily fee option at Houstonian, but i'll ask my dad to see if we can get out and go play there sometime coming up. You should also come back and play braeburn again.. The next 6 weeks looking a little tight, but I think May would be good.

 

Took a couple week break after the tourney.. been raining so chomping at the bit to get out soon this week hopefully. Nice 88!

I actually started doing that a couple weeks ago. I would pretend to play holes at the range and rarely hit the same club twice in a row. Also, my mind's pretty much blank when I'm practicing. My only thought is "smack them and make them fly." Feels like I have golf ADD.

 

Yeah I live right next to GS on braker. I'm not sure which course, Avery ranch sounds fun if the price is right!

 

I have heard about 7 hcps, improving their hcp by going to GI irons. I do believe that a player's iron should teach you more about your swing and proper impact since it will punish you more on mishits. And, when you are striking it, you can work the spin on the ball right and left..which is fun. Mizzy's tend to be heavier than AP2s and otherwise... I also like the look of the new ping i15/20s..

 

if you drop 5 strokes from switching irons. I will be amazed. I think makeshift is fine; practice makes perfect.

 

What kind of irons ar eyou going with anyhow?

 

I'd love to drop 5 strokes off my handicap.. want to play in the single digits. I think it's going to take commitment to practice, and coaching. somehow your body knows how it's "supposed" to feel when you swing,...but it's not that easy to recreate w/o a system.

 

No, I've never been fitted.. but I hear it can help alot. However, I think they would likely fit me with something more offset with a thicker sole. They would probably also take out the 2, 4 and 5 iron and put in some more hybrids?

 

haha not quite sure... hook/slice action..maybe body just started moving all over the place trying to hit the ball further?

 

i have played 3 or 4 different drivers but only switched putters once. haha...

 

Awesome.. I think i'm starting to have some fun with it as well.. got stuck in a funk w/ a poor grip for a little bit but starting to strike a few shots (when timing is proper) "pure".. enjoy those even if they come infrequently. GL with the new black series putter.. shes' a beaut. =D

I went ahead and bought the barton special. I figure it makes sense to just upgrade both to Fazio.... $225 is their normal rate if you wanted to play a second round.

 

Also- my schedule looks open on 12/10, 12/17, 2/3 & 2/17. January will be tough as I'm traveling to Taiwan early, and have Oliver's bach late Jan.

 

I'm not sure about how much the 2nd round would be since it's based on double-occupancy and only 2 rounds included for the 2 guests. However, if we buy two of them.. as in Christina stays and Erin stays.. we could upgrade for $50 fazio canyons one day, foothills the 2nd day... or, we could just upgrade one of the rounds. But the fazio courses are ranked #1 & 2 in the state. =D

Picked up a new stat off the PGAtour.com site-- "Putts per GIR" I think that makes more sense, since you can chip it close and 1-2 putt, but it's not standardized. Granted-- since I don't hit that many GIRs it's a limited sample size.

haha.. 100 is bad if you've been playing on and off for the last 8 years. my weakness is slicing tee shots.. slicing iron shots, duffing balls in the rough, sand. some shanks into the water ;P

 

Thanks..knowing my game I will shoot over 100 shortly. I am still playing higher than I wa a year ago, hope I can start playing better.
