The man took out his wallet, extracted two dollars and asked, "If I gave you this money, will you take it and buy whiskey?" "No, I stopped drinking years ago," the bum said. "Will you use it to gamble?" "I don't gamble. I need everything I can get just to stay alive." "Will you spend the money on greens fees at a golf course?" "Are you NUTS! I haven't played golf in 20 years!" The man said, "Well, I'm not going to give you two dollars. Instead, I 'm going to take you to my home for a terrific dinner cooked by my wife." The bum was astounded. "Won't your wife be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty bad." The man replied, "That's OK. I just want her to see what a man looks like who's given up drinking, gambling, and golf." 7/1/12
bighead1905 says:I think even during economic downtime, golfers will still spend time to pursue their passion. In our last research we gather information that avid golfers, who are growing older, may now play lesser golf during recession due to other commitment. For me, yes I have cut down playing golf from twice a week to twice a month because of the raining season that makes the golf course soggy in addition; I have found other interest such as scuba diving. Because of the nature of my business, recession is not an issue. If you asked the golf course owners/operators, they will be the hardest hit as people today is not into buying club membership as they can now pay and play freely anywhere. 7/1/12
bighead1905 says:I am certainly very busy and business in 2012 is no worse than in 2011 and may even be better so I don’t feel like we are in an economic recession. I think I will play the same amount of golf in 2012 as I do any other year. So far the business outlook for 2012 is about the same as 2011. I don't think the golf course is the place where you find new business deals, but it is a place where you can build good relationships with existing or potential clients that you already know and who you invite to play golf with you 6/25/12
matt314hew says:Hello everyone. I try to play about once a week, but normally only get out maybe 2 times a month. Busy with work. I am working on my game a lot and trying to get down to a 10 handicap. 3/23/09

rricker81 says:Hello PA golfers. Just joined the group. Playing four local courses regularly getting out once a week. Was a competitive junior golfer who recently fell in love with the game all over again. Currently a 10 hdcp but hope to be at a 7 or 8 by summer's end. Please post any great courses you play in the PA area this summer as I plan on doing a bit of traveling for golf weekends this summer. Hit 'em long and straight. 5/14/08
grand hawk x22 says:Helo members, sorry about raising the handicap average. I have been golfing for two years and my handicap has been falling slowly but surely. I play as often as possible witch can be every day to three times a week. I marshal at Evergreen golf so I get all the golf I can play for free so that is where most of my scores are from. My friend Jeff is only at it a year so he plays alot at Tree Top so a good bit of scores will come from there as well. 1/10/08
