briankjb says:Ok, I know that the ratings are done by the USGA but I have played both courses numerous times. Valley Oaks I have played 100's of times and the Vineyard I have played 15 plus. And no doubt in my mind that the Vineyard is tougher. I know why they got a poor rating is because they have 90 yard par 3's and a 250 yard par 4. But those holes are pure target golf. If you hit short water, if you hit long OB, you hit right or left OB. Fairways at the Vineyard are 30 yards wide, not 50-80 like Valley Oaks. I bet anyone in our group can play ten rounds at each course and they would average 4 to 5 strokes better at VO. Thank you and drive thru. 5/8/08
